The Development of New Port Territories on Krievu sala
On 31.08.2006 State Ltd "Vides Projekti" had been contracted by the Freeport of Riga Authority. The goal of this project is to promote the competitiveness of the Freeport of Riga by developing efficient and rational infrastructure of transport, as well as providing all the necessary conditions for creating a new terminal and production area on Krievu sala.

Publishing and distribution of the Information "Localization of the Hogweed"
Successful localization of the Sosnowski’s hogweed requires permanent and determined effort backed by a considerable financial support. Therefore at the time being it is of special importance to provide the most recent information on methods of eradication of this invasive weed.

The Project prescribes to gather information and to prepare summary edition catalog about the most important and interesting projects financed by the Latvian Environment Protection Fund during last 10 years.

Development of The National Program to restrict Hogweed from spreading
As in other places in Europe, there are more problems raised in Latvia as well as caused by the influence of an invasive plant species on ecosystem. The most problematic and most damage causing species is, of course, Sosnowskyi hogweed (Heracleum sosnowskyi), which can spread out and survive not only in neglected fields and by the roadsides but also within the natural flora.

According to legislation all asbestos containing waste must be taken to "Dumini" in Broceni region where the only asbestos containing waste ground in Latvia is located.

ENMaR - European Network of Municipalities and Rivers
"Environmental Projects" Ltd. is one of the partners in a project "ENMaR - EUROPEAN NETWORK OF MUNICIPALITIES AND RIVERS" financed by the INTERREG III C program. Kommunale Umwelt-Aktion U.A.N, leading organization of the project, in cooperation with its partners from Latvia, Germany, Spain, England and Sweden developed a project during which a cooperative network of municipalities will be created in these countries.

The Project was developed to accomplish fortification work of the Daugava hydropower station reservoir's eroded coasts and ensure the use of the Riga hydropower station reservoir's engineering-protection buildings.

The Baltic Biomass Network
The Baltic Sea region (BSR) with its agricultural and forest resources has a great potential to implement the goals of the European Union Directives in using biomass for the production and use of heating, electric energy and fuel. However long term development of bioenergy depends on eliminating existing obstacles in the region, including th epoorly developed logistics, the infrastructure of biomass production, the limited local resources, competing market members, interests in land use or insufficient knowledge about the potential of the region.

Registration, Research and Rehabilitation of Polluted Sites
One of the most important and largest fields of activities for "Environmental Projects" Ltd., where a very specific knowledge and great experience is needed, is the research of contaminated places, the preparation and the implementation of rehabilitation projects for these places. It is dealt with by Ivans Semjonovs, Doctor of Geology, leading the Rehabilitation Department of "Environmental Projects".
