On 21st November in Tukums Town Council within the framework of the project "Baltic Biomass Network", coordinated by "Vides projekti" Ltd. and supported by INTERREG III B, in cooperation with the Tukums Town Council, research results on wood resources in Tukums County were presented, as well as the latest information was provided about the EU funds attracting options for production and use of bioenergy.

The event was attended by representatives from the municipalities of Tukums District and town council, as well by businessmen of the branch and forest owners.

Ilze Neimane, the project director of the "Vides projekti" Ltd., informed participants about the basic idea and activities of the project "Baltic Biomass Network", and also about bioenergy resources in agriculture in the first part of the event . After that Andis Lazdiņš, Researcher of the Latvian State Forest research Institute "Silava" presented the latest research results on resources of energetic wood in Tukums County. Then Dzintars Vjakse, Project Manager of the "Vides projekti" Ltd. reported on heat production from biomass in Tukums County, and Ansis Grantiņš, representative of the company "Infosab", informed on fund raising options for production and use of bioenergy.

To decide which are main targets and key directions of the Bioenergy Development Strategy of Tukums County, participants discussed about further development prospects in the field of renewable energy resources in Tukums County in the second part of the event.

On 28th November, on repeated meeting targets and key directions of the Bioenergy Development Strategy of Tukums County were developed, presented and discussed once more by the work group. 
The meeting was attended by representatives from the municipalities of Tukums District and town council, business people of the branch, forest managers and other interested persons. Also experts from the Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" took part in the meeting. The drafted strategy targets and directions were analyzed, amended and improved.
