From July 20 to 22 Sporting Games of the Ministry of Environment took place in the sports and leisure centre "Klauģulejas" in Mārciena. "Vides projekti" Ltd, celebrating their 10th Anniversary, organized an evening of documentary films and made successful start in the games.

The best result by the team of “Vides projekti” was demonstrated in the relay-race, achieving the 2nd result among 30 teams.
In general competition the honourable "Vides projekti" achieved position Nr. 8!

During the documentary film evening, organized by the enterprise "Vides projekti", videos demonstrated were: "Forest for Birds" (2004), "Letters to Embūte" (2006), as well as for the first time shown for wider publics was the film "The Sea is Hurt!" (2007). Also collection of the best moments of the Latvia National Hockey Team was demonstrated (2007).

The documentary film "The Sea is Hurt!" (director Sandris Jūra) is the latest video film by "Vides projekti", made by order of the Ministry of Environment.
We live near the Baltic Sea and we feel troubled by sudden propagation of cyanobacteria in summer or by damages of autumn storms. But what can make anxious the sea itself? From one side this is wastewater continuously falling into it, from other side – these are "gifts" left by people after the big war times. The sea preservation problems in close cooperation with other stakeholders, also with those involved in the environment and nature protection, are solved by the Coast Guards of the Marine Forces. The story is about this cooperative work.

Project "The best moments of the Latvia National Hockey Team" reflects 10 years of the national hockey team in the best group, demonstrates matches from 10 World Championships - best goals, hits and saves, most attractive fans and judges. State enterprise "Vides projekti" in their 10th Anniversary dedicates this disk as a gratitude to the National |Hockey Team for their decade long fight resulting in bigger and smaller success, as appreciation to the hockey fans for their devotion and endurance and as congratulations to all the sports enthusiasts and supporters in Latvia.

The state enterprise "Vides projekti" celebrates their 10th Anniversary this year. Since starting their activities in 1997, the company has implemented more than 50 projects, targeted to improvement of the environment conditions in Latvia. The company raises funds from various organizations and financial institutions for solving environment problems important in Latvia. Currently "Vides projekti" works with the EU Cohesion Fund, European Regional Development Fund, EU Life Programme. Long-term partners are the UNDP Bureau in Latvia and Global Environment Facility.
