Within the project "Cooperation development and exchange of experience in field of environment protection requirements adoption for The Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Georgia recreation zones and for protected nature territories", from 26. until 31. of July delegation from Georgia visited Latvia.
The project’s partners from Georgia:
- Irakls Goradze – councillor of the government chairmen in The Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Georgia and leader of International cooperation department;
- Nodar Kontselidze – leader of The Autonomous Republic of Algeria, Georgia Biodiversity and Integrated Environment board;
- Sophio Nikolaishvili – main specialist of The Autonomous Republic of Algeria, Georgia Tourism and health resort board statistical department;
- Lasha Moistrapishvili - deputy director of Agency of Protected Nature Territories
- Davit Khomeriki – director of Mtrila Nacional Park;
- Marina Jordania – coordinator of The Green Movement of Georgia biodiversity programme.
There were organized informative and educational seminar about “Environmental Projects” Ltd and Latvian Environmental Protection Fund Administration working principles and fields, "Green certificate", competition "Seeder" and Blue Flag Movement programme. Also they had study excursions to Vidzeme and Kurzeme, where visitors were introduced with protected nature territories, farmers with green serteficate and farmers who offer unconventional rural tourism potentialities.
In meeting with Liepaja City Council’s deputy of cairman Gunāru Ansiņu and leader of Council’s Environment department Daci Liepnieci visitors gained conception about realized environment projects and related problems in Liepaja City and also sustainable development achievements and future plans.
But in meeting which occurred in Riga, in Ministry of the Environment, delegation visited deputy of State Secretaries Andri Eglāju, leader of Projects Implementation Department Juriju Spiridonovu, leader of Department of Nature Protection Daigu Vilkasti and leader of Department of Environmental Protection Rudīti Veseri. There was presentation about ministry and its supervised departments working fields, principles and realized projects.
